Sean Duffy is the Senior Manager at Elevate by Welch, with more than 10 years of accounting & finance experience. Sean is one of the very few cloud-based accountants who have an in-depth knowledge of Quickbooks Online as well as desktop applications. His familiarity with these cutting edge technologies allows his clients to benefit from a more streamlined process while still maintaining secure data backups and information security protocols.

He joined Elevate with extensive background in small-business cloud-accounting, which he leveraged into successfully building a new business line for the firm. Sean focuses on leveraging his expertise across a wide variety of industries to provide best-in-class solutions for his clients.

Sean earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance as well as a Diplome d'Etudes Superieures Specialise en Finance from the Universite du Quebec en Outaouais. He studied accounting at Carleton University with CMA Ontario and earned his CPA. He is a QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor and was a finalist for QuickBooks Firm of the Future in 2018.

Eric Liebmann holds more than 15 years of public practice experience in accounting, audit, and assurance. He has extensive experience in public accounting and consulting with owner-managed companies. Eric specializes in helping private companies through various stages of business growth - from start-up to mid-sized company to those seeking an exit strategy - by providing financial statement audits, reviews and notice to readers; tax return filings; strategic planning; and other local or national accounting matters.

He joined Elevate by Welch with the intention of delivering a unique service that addresses both the practical and strategic side of business accounting, finance, and taxation. He is committed to providing quality service by maintaining a strong client-service focus and proactive approach. He is determined to spend as much time with his clients, discussing their financial challenges, as possible.

Eric received his Bachelor of Commerce degree with specialization in accounting from the University of Ottawa. He holds CPA and CA designations.

Caroline Proulx is the Onboarding Manager at Elevate by Welch. With more than 10 years of public accounting and bookkeeping experience, she specializes in small business accounting solutions, full-cycle accounting, corporate and personal tax, and healthcare & medical practices.

As the onboarding manager, she is also responsible for our employee training and development, and she works directly with Elevate clients to ensure they're getting the best possible service.

Caroline graduated from Georgian College with a Business Administration Diploma in Accounting. She intends to pursue her CPA designation. As a certified QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor, she works with clients to meet their needs for QuickBooks services and also helps them with any question they may have.

She was recognized as a Top 50 Woman in Accounting for 2020 by Practice Ignition and featured in Accounting Today, an honour dedicated to the many accounting professionals who continue to break the glass ceiling and advance the accounting industry.

Monica Valbuena has more than 10 years of bookkeeping experience. She is a full-cycle bookkeeper and cloud-based accounting software expert. She also has extensive experience in construction, manufacturing, and mining.

Monica’s goal is to provide peace of mind to her clients by helping them prepare for monthly reporting, year-end tax work, audits, reduce taxes, grow their business or save money through intelligent accounting practices. Assisting her clients remotely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and tax preparation helps her clients save time, money and energy making the most of their business.

She graduated from the University of Manitoba with an Applied Business Management Certificate. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Javeriana University in Bogota, as well as a specialization in tax law from Savahana University. As a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor, you will find Monica to have expert knowledge of standard bookkeeping procedures and is well-versed in QuickBooks Online. She intends to pursue her CPA designation.

Ling Xue specializes in the field of accounting for businesses of any size with over 10 years’ experience doing so. With her deep knowledge and experience in the finance & accounting industry, she is able to provide valuable advice to her clients.

She has extensive knowledge of all financial matters relating to a business' management, including reporting and payroll processes. Her skills have established a strong foundation for her career as a CPA. This includes making sure that all bookkeeping is up to date and accurate. She also believes that proper financial management is key to a company's success, which helps them achieve long-term growth.

Ling Xue has a Bachelor of Food Engineering from Shanghai University. She spent the first 5 years of her career in marketing and business development for e-commerce technology companies in Shanghai. Later on, she pursued a Masters of Engineering Management at the University of Ottawa, and obtained her CPA designation in 2012. Ling is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Olivia Ferderber has more than 8 years of human resources experience. Prior to joining Welch, she was involved with the high-tech, education, and aviation industries, where she provided strategic leadership for recruiting and talent management.

As the human resources business partner, Olivia is responsible for strategic HR service delivery through innovative thinking and targeted actions. She ensures the alignment of the business's talent strategy with executive needs and strategic objectives. Olivia delivers HR services that enhance Welch's competitive advantage in the marketplace. She works closely with the business lines across Welch to ensure optimal performance of all employee policies and practices.

She holds a BA in English Literature with a minor in Psychology from Carleton University.

Her unique educational background makes her a strong communicator with an entrepreneurial orientation to developing and implementing programs and initiatives across Welch's business lines.

"An HR Business Partner's primary role is helping the business align its strategy with the needs of people. We ensure that both parties understand each other's perspective and expectations", says Olivia. She adds "I enjoy the flexibility and knowledge that each day is different and unpredictable. Stephen Sun, B. Comm Accounting (Hons)

Stephen comes to us after working for several years in audit for both public and private organizations. His valuable professional experience has allowed him to gain sharp insight into the issues that organizations of different sizes face when it comes to bookkeeping.

Stephen will be working with clients as their trusted cloud-bookkeeper, where he’ll be responsible for helping them with financial accounting, tax filings and reporting requirements. In addition, Stephen will be working closely with Caroline Proulx, where he’ll use his strong customer service focus skills to assist with onboarding new clients. Stephen will also work with Sean Duffy to ensure that clients financial analysis & benchmarking data is up-to-date at all times.

Stephen graduated in 2019 from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Degree in Accounting. Stephen is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, which means that he is an expert in the use of QuickBooks to meet all bookkeeping, financial management and reporting needs.
